How do you take Ozempic®?
Ozempic® is indicated for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The starting dose of Ozempic® is 0.25 mg once a week for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, your dose should be increased to 0.5 mg once a week. Depending on how you are tolerating the medication at this stage, your doctor may increase your dose further. Do not change your dose unless directed by your doctor.

How do you use the Ozempic® pen?
Always use a new needle for each injection. This will prevent contamination, infection, leakage of Ozempic®, and blocked needles leading to the wrong dose. Never use a bent or damaged needle.

What are the common side effects of Ozempic®?
The most common side effects of Ozempic® may include nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach (abdominal) pain, and constipation. With any medicine, it’s very important to talk to your health care provider about side effects—talk to yours about any side effect that bothers you or doesn't go away.

How do you manage the side effects of Ozempic®?
• Eat smaller, more frequent meals
• Avoid high-fat and high-fibre foods and beverages
• Eat soft, well-cooked foods
• Thoroughly chew your food
• Avoid carbonated, fizzy, or alcoholic beverages
• Drink plenty of water
• Do some gentle physical activity after meals, like walking
• Avoid lying down for 2 hours after a meal

How do you store the Ozempic® pen?
Prior to first use and Until expiration date:

Store your new, unused Ozempic® pens in the refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C
After first use and until 56th day after first use:

Store your pen in use for 56 days at room temperature between 15ºC to 30ºC or in a refrigerator between 2°C to 8°C

The Ozempic® pen you are using should be disposed of (thrown away) after 56 days, even if it still has Ozempic® left in it. Write the disposal date on your calendar.
