How do you take Contrave®?
The usual starting dose of this medication is one tablet taken by mouth once daily, in the morning for the first week. For the second week, the dose is one tablet twice a day, once in the morning and one with the evening meal. The dose is increased by 1 tablet daily each week until the recommended maximum daily dose of two tablets taken twice daily.

My Doctor recommended a different dose for Contrave® from what is listed above, what should I do?
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.

What are the common side effects of Contrave®?
The most common side effects of Contrave® include:
nausea, constipation, headache, vomiting, dizziness, trouble sleeping, dry mouth, & diarrhea.
The list above is not an extensive list and there are other, less common side effects associated with this medication. Some of these include: seizures, liver damage, visual changes.
